A call is a single recorded conversation. It’s the core object in CallVault — everything else (workspaces, folders, search, sharing) exists to help you find, review, and act on calls.

What a call record contains

Every call in CallVault has:

Recording

The original audio or video file. Playback is synced to the transcript — click any line to jump to that moment.

Transcript

A full text transcript with speaker labels and timestamps. Automatically generated after import or upload.

AI summary

An AI-generated summary of the call, including key topics, action items, and a brief overview. Ready within minutes of transcription.

Tags

Labels you apply to categorize calls. Add tags manually or automatically via routing rules.

Metadata

Each call also shows:
  • Date and time of the recording
  • Duration
  • Participants (names/emails when available from the call source)
  • Source — Fathom, Zoom, or manual upload
  • Folder — which folder it’s in (if any)
  • Workspace — which workspace it belongs to

Viewing a call

Open a call to see its full detail view:
  • The left panel shows the playback controls and full transcript
  • The right panel shows the AI summary, action items, and tags
  • Use the scrubber at the bottom to navigate the recording
  • Click any transcript line to jump playback to that timestamp

Editing call details

You can edit:
  • Title — rename the call to something more descriptive than the auto-generated name
  • Tags — add or remove tags at any time
  • Folder — move the call to a different folder within the same workspace
  • Workspace — move the call to a different workspace (requires Editor or Admin role)

Sharing a call

Every call has a shareable link. People you share it with can view the transcript and play the recording without a CallVault account. See Sharing for details on link settings.

Exporting a call

Calls can be exported as PDF, Word (.docx), Markdown, or CSV. See Export for options.

Deleting a call

To delete a call, open it and select Delete from the menu, or right-click the call card in the list view.
Deleting a call permanently removes the recording, transcript, and AI summary. This cannot be undone.
