An organization is the root of everything in CallVault. All workspaces, calls, members, and settings belong to an organization.
Personal vs. business organizations
When you create a CallVault account, you automatically get a personal organization. This works fine for solo use, but most teams will want a shared organization that multiple people belong to.
| Personal org | Business org |
|---|
| Members | Just you | Your whole team |
| Workspaces | My Calls + any you create | Shared workspaces across the team |
| Billing | Individual plan | Team plan |
| Best for | Solo use or evaluation | Any team of 2 or more |
If you’re evaluating CallVault for your team, sign up with your work email and then invite your teammates — that way you’re all in the same organization from day one.
Creating an organization
You can create additional organizations from your account menu:
- Click your organization name in the top navigation
- Select Create new organization
- Give it a name and choose a plan
- Start inviting members
Most teams only need one organization. A second org makes sense if you’re managing entirely separate companies or need strict data isolation.
Switching organizations
If you belong to more than one organization (for example, a personal account and a company account), you can switch between them:
- Click your organization name in the top navigation
- Select the organization you want to switch to
Your workspaces, calls, and settings are completely separate between organizations.
Organization roles
Every member of an organization has one of three roles:
| Role | What they can do |
|---|
| organization_owner | Full control — billing, deleting the org, managing all members and settings |
| organization_admin | Manage members and settings, but cannot delete the org or change billing |
| member | Access workspaces they’ve been added to; cannot change org-level settings |
The person who creates the organization is automatically the owner. Ownership can be transferred to another admin in Settings → Workspaces → Members.
Organization settings
Go to Settings → Workspaces to:
- Rename your organization
- Manage members and their org-level roles
- View and update your subscription plan
- Configure org-wide defaults
Organization-level settings affect everyone. Workspace-level permissions are separate and give you finer control over who can access specific call libraries. See Workspace Roles.
